Introducing an AI Policy

Vibe-coded tweaks are a new problem facing our community. We aim to support high-quality work, so we now have an AI Policy, which is effective from today. Please familiarise yourself with it, and make any necessary changes to your products to avoid issues. If you have any questions about following the policy, get in touch.
To reflect the new policy, our Seller Guidelines have also been updated:
- Section 1 (Functionality), clause 10: Products that appear to be developed using artificial intelligence tools by an unskilled developer (also known as “vibecoding”) are likely to be rejected.
- Section 3 (Metadata), clause 12: A product’s description and changelog text should not be generated by artificial intelligence. AI tools produce overly verbose text that is not effective at pitching your product. Visitors may recognise this and avoid your product.
- Section 4 (Graphics), clause 7: All graphics and video should not be generated using artificial intelligence. AI tools frequently generate errors that hinder the quality of your listing. Visitors may recognise this and avoid your product.
We also added new advice on how to write a description. We’ve frequently had to reject revisions because of descriptions that are too wordy or unclear, so this has some advice on writing a compelling description.
